Some people use an inflatable kiddie pool for the basis of the pool and then line the exterior with rocks or brick in order to hide the pool.
The main purpose of indoor ponds is often to over winter plants and fish from an outdoor pond because most people live in an environment that is not conducive to leaving the plants outdoors for the winter. With the right environment however, plants and fish can easily survive the winter months and you can move them back out to their outdoor homes in the springtime. An indoor pond should be controlled with a basic thermometer and a pump and circulation system to keep the plants and koi healthy.
