Have you ever admired a beautiful backyard garden pond in your neighbor’s yard and wished that you could have one? Well, you may be surprised to learn that it is not hard to learn how to build a water garden. With a few simple steps, you can easily learn how to build a water garden in your own backyard so that your neighbors and friends are envious of your beautiful backyard pond paradise.
The first thing that you need to do when learning how to build a water garden is to decide on the shape of your pond. Using a rope, lay out the pond and play with it until you are happy with the shape. Then, you can simply start digging! Make your pond as deep as you like it to be, but keep in mind that if you are considering adding koi you will want it to be at least 3 feet deep. Add a pond liner and try to keep the creases and folds to a minimum. Keep the liner stretched tight along the top of the pond. In order to do this, you may want to dig a small trench to stick the liner in and place large rocks or stones on the top to hold the liner in place.
After placing the liner in you can add the water to the pond and you will have your pond in place. Some people prefer to add a fountain in the middle of the pump. You can do this simply by putting a pump in the center of the pond. Many people prefer the look of a waterfall to a fountain, and this is easily achieved by stacking rocks up on the edge of the pond and stringing the hose through the rocks to the top of the rocks. It is easy to learn how to build a water garden by following a few simple steps and you will have a beautiful garden pond.
